4 slices bread ghee : 1 /2 cup to fry bread, 1 /2 cup to cook along with milk and powder 1 cup milk powder or 1 cup kova 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 10 almonds (grind to a paste with a little water) For Garnish: 2 tbsps ghee 1 tbsp cashews 1 tbsp slivered almonds 1 tbsp raisins 1 tbsp sarap paruppu 1 tbsp melon seeds
Garnish: Heat the ghee and fry all or a few of the ingredients under “Garnish”. Pour over the halwa.
An occasional rich dessert is OK :-), but for those of you who want to reduce the amount of ghee in this recipe, apply ghee to bread slices and just toast them until crisp and brown instead of frying it.
