A famous snack made during festival times.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Chick Peas
1 Tsp Oil
Salt to taste
1/4 Tsp Chilli Powder
1 Tbsp grated Coconut

Seasoning:

1/4 Tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 Tsp Urad Dhal
1 Red Chillies broken
1 sprig Curry Leaves
A pinch of Turmeric Powder

Preparation:
  • Soak the chickpeas over night and pressure cook with salt till tender.
  • Drain and keep aside.
  • Heat oil and add the seasonings.
  • When mustard crackle, add the cooked chickpeas and chilli powder.
  • Mix gently for a minute and add the coconut.
  • Mix and serve.

Ahila, I substituted w/canned Chickpeas and your recipe was ready in a jiffy! Also added some finely chopped garlic along with the seasoning and topped with finely diced red onions when ready to serve, it was delicious - thank you!
