A simple and tasty murukku preparation. Both adults and children like it.


Ingredients:


rice flour         1 lb.
Urad dhal       a hand full (roasted and powdered)
Asafoetida      1/4 tsp.
Black ellu or sesame seeds       1 tsp.
Salt                 to taste
Oil for deep frying.

 
Preparation:

 

  • Put all the ingredients in a vessel . Pour in enough hot water and make a dough.
  • Heat oil for deep frying.
  • Put dough in the murukku press with 5 or 3 holes and press directly into the frying pan with the hot oil .
  • Just turn it once for the other side to cook. It should be between light and dark brown in colour. When it cools it will be crisp.


Tips:

You can break and store it in an air tight container.
