Ginger Cardamom Chai / Tea

Chai is definitely the most popular beverage in India-it is sure to refresh and awaken your senses.

Ingredients:

2-3 tsps tea (depending on the tea you use)

1 /2 inch piece ginger

2 cardamoms

1 /2 cup water

1 ½ cup milk

3 tsps sugar

Preparation:


  • Crush the ginger and cardamom.
  • Boil water in a saucepan.
  • Add the crushed ginger and cardamom.
  • Add the tea leaves and let it boil a min.
  • Slowly pour in the milk.Add sugar,mix well and bring to a boil.
  • Turn off the heat and strain into tea cups.
  • Enjoy your hot cup of chai.



Tips:

Use a mortar and pestle to crush the ginger and cardamom.
