Onion Uthappam

Uthappams are the perfect breakfast to make with left over idli or dosa batter.

Ingredients:

2 cups left over dosa or idli batter (see dosa recipe)

1 onion chopped

1 cup fresh coriander leaves chopped

1 tsp fresh minced ginger

1 green chili finely chopped (optional)

oil

Preparation:

 

  • Heat tawa or non stick pan.
  • Pour a spoon full of batter and spread to make a circle.The dosa should be slightly thick.
  • Sprinkle onions, coriander leaves, ginger and chilies.
  • Drizzle oil over dosa and along the edges.
  • Let cook a min, flip to cook the other side.
  • Serve hot with chutney or sambar.

Tips:

Use additional topping like tomatoes, grated carrots etc if desired.
