Chicken Tikka

Chicken tikka is a popular Indian appetizer that is both quick & easy to prepare.It can also be served with rice, naan or chappatis as a main dish.

Ingredients:


1 lb boneless chicken cut into medium size pieces
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
2/3 cup plain yogurt
4 tbsps lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander/cilantro leaves
1 tbsp veg. oil
1 small onion,cut into rings,lime wedges,fresh cilantro to garnish



Preparation:

  • In a mixing bowl combine chicken pieces,ginger paste,garlic paste,chili powder,turmeric powder,salt,plain yogurt,lemon juice & fresh coriander & let marinate for atleast 2 hrs.
  • Place marinated chicken on a broiler tray and baste with oil.
  • Preheat broiler to medium & broil the chicken for 15-20 mins until cooked,turning & basting 2-3 times in between .
  • Serve garnished with onion,lime, & cilantro.


Tips:


1.The longer the chicken marinates the better.

2.You can add orange food color to make the dish attractive.
