Green Chicken Korma

As the name suggests this korma is light green in color - the key ingredient being green chilies, coconut & cashew nuts, and goes very well with parathas.

Ingredients:

1 lb Chicken cut into medium pieces
1/2 cup Yogurt
1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
6 green chilies(add more according to your taste, since it is the only 'spice to add heat' in this recipe)
10 - 15 raw cashew nuts (to add thickness)
3/4 cup grated coconut
1 tsp coriander powder
1 big onion
4 Cardamoms
2 Cloves
3 small pieces Cinnamon stick
1 tsp khus khus
Salt

Preparation:
  • Grind the khus khus,green chilies,cashews,yogurt & coconut to make a fine paste.Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil .
  • Add onions & salt and fry till translucent.
  • Fry the ginger garlic paste until golden brown.
  • Add coriander powder,cloves,cardamom,cinnamon.
  • Add the chicken with 1/2 cupof water and cook for a few mins.
  • Now add the ground paste and cook until well done.
  • The gravy should be thick and whitish green in color.

Tips:
  1. Cashew will make the gravy very thick.Make sure you add enough water while cooking.
  2. Serve this delicious korma with hot parathas or ghee rice.
