Chapathis are one of most popular Indian flat breads - they are made with whole wheat flour and can be eaten at any meal with almost any side dish!

Ingredients:
2 ½ cup whole wheat flour
1 ¼ cup warm water (add more or less accordingly)
¼ tsp salt
Flour for dusting
1 tsp oil
Preparation:
- Mix the flour and salt.
- To this add the warm water little by little and knead well to make a soft dough. Add the oil and knead a bit more to make a big ball.
- Cover and set aside for 15 mins -1 /2 hr.
- Divide the dough into 10 pieces. Roll the pieces in your palms to make small balls.
- Dust the dough balls with some flour and roll out the dough into a flat circle with a rolling pin. Sprinkle more flour if required to prevent sticking.
- Heat a tawa or pan.
- Cook the chapathis one at a time. When you see the chapathi begin to puff in places and when small brown dots appear on one side, flip it over and cook till the other side it done.
- Serve hot with a nice curry.
Tips:
If you don’t want flour on the counter when rolling out the chapathis with flour, spread a layer of cling wrap on the kitchen counter. Add a drop of oil on either side of the small dough ball and roll them out into flat circles with a rolling pin.
