Kothukari/Minced Meat Kolumbu

Minced meat cooked with spicy masala that goes well with idli, chapathi and parottas.
1minced meat kolumbu
Ingredients:

1/2 Lb Minced Mutton
1 Medium Red Onion chopped
1 Medium Tomato chopped
2 Tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
1/2 Cup chopped Coriander and Mint Leaves
Salt to Taste
1 Tbsp Oil

Grind to Paste:

1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 Tsp Chilli Powder
2 Tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 Tsp Pepper Powder
1/2 Tsp Jeera/Cumin Powder
1/2 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
5 Whole Cashew nuts
1/2 Tsp Poppy seeds
1/2 Cup grated Coconut

Preparation:
  • Pressure cook meat with salt, little water and 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add onion, little salt , 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste and saute till golden.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook till soft. Mash it with a laddle.
  • Add chopped coriander and mint leaves. Fry for few minutes.
  • Add cooked meat, ground paste, water and salt.
  • Cook in medium flame till oil floats on top of the gravy( about 30 minutes).
Tip:

Grated coconut can be replaced with coconut milk.
