Mutton Masala with Pepper & Jeera

Mutton pieces cooked with black pepper & cumin powder. This dish was a favorite that mom made for every family picnic to go along with tomato rice and potato chips.

Ingredients:
 

1 lb mutton

2 large onions sliced

1 large tomato chopped

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

2 tsps cumin / jeera powder

1 /2 tsp black pepper powder (add more if u like it spicy)

3 cardamoms

2 cloves

2 pieces cinnamon

1 tbsp oil

salt to taste

 
Preparation:
 
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  • Add the sliced onions and whole spices and cook with some salt till soft.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste & fry 2 mins.
  • Add the tomatoes, pepper & cumin powders and cook till tomatoes are soft.
  • Add the meat and season with more salt. Mix well and pressure cook till meat is tender.The masala should be thick, not watery. Enjoy with rice or chapathis!
