You have to acquire a taste for it. Goes well with aappam, idiappam and thick and soft dosai.
Ingredients:
trotters 4 nos.
Onion 1
ginger and garlic paste 1 tsp.
Cinnamon 2" sticks 2 layers.
Oil 1 tbs.
Corriander powder 1 tsp.
Pepper powder 1 tsp.
Cumminseed powder 1 tsp.
Water to cook
salt to taste.
Ground coconut with kuskus seeds(1tsp.)
cashew(6nos.) Or almonds 1/2 cup.
Preparation:
- Soak the cut trotters in water for an hour. Clean it thoroughly. See to it no hair sticks to it.
- Heat the oil in the pressure cooker and put in the sliced onions. When it turns golden brown add the cinnamon sticks and the ginger and garlic paste on a slow fire.
- Then put in the trotters , corriander powder, pepper powder, cumin seed powder, salt and enough water to cook. Pressure cook it for half an hour or till well done.
- When the pressure cooker is cool enough to open, add the ground coconut paste and simmer for 5 minutes. Now it is ready to eat.
Tips:
Gravy should be in a pouring consistency. Otherwise it will be too thick when it cools. Better eat it when it is hot. When you cook see to it you add enough water, as it takes a longer time to cook. Enjoy eating. Add as favourites (25) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 420
