Jeera Pulao

A simple rice preparation with jeera , whole spices and ghee. Jeera Pulao is a "convenient main dish" since it can be served with almost any side you can think of!

Ingredients:

2 cups Basmati rice

1 ½ tsp jeera

4 cardamoms

3 cloves

3 pieces cinnamon

3 tbsps ghee/butter

salt

water to cook rice.

For Garnish:

2 onions sliced and fried till golden brown.

Preparation:

  • Wash rice,drain and set aside.
  • Heat ghee .Add the whole spices and jeera and fry .
  • Add in the rice and stir around.
  • Add the water and salt and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat, cover and let it simmer till the rice is fully cooked.
  • Fluff rice with a fork and garnish with fried onions.
  • Jeera pulao is now ready to be served with any curry!
