Potato Pulao

Rice cooked with potato and spices.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Rice
1 Medium Onion chopped
1 Medium Potato cubed
1/2" Ginger chopped
4 cloves Garlic chopped
3 Green Chillies sliced
1 Tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 Tsp Jeera
1/4 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
Little Turmeric Powder
Few Pinches Hing
1-2 Tbsp Coconut
2 Tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
1 3/4 Cups Water
1 Tbsp Oil
Salt to taste

Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a cooker.
  • Add Jeera, hing, chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for few seconds.
  • Add onion and green chillies. Saute till onions are soft.
  • Add potato, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
  • Saute for few minutes in low flame.
  • Add rice, salt and mix thoroughly.
  • Add water, coconut gratings and coriander leaves.
  • Pressure cook till rice is done.
  • Serve hot with raita.
