Super Easy’n Quick Bisibelabath |

A wholesome rice dish with dal,vegetables and spices - definitely a meal by itself. This yummy bisibelabath recipe was shared by my little sister.Tastes like you spent hours preparing it,but you really spend no more than 20 mins in all!!!
Ingredients:
To pressure cook:
rice 1 cup
toor dal 3/4 cup
water - 3 .5 cups
salt to taste
turmeric - 1/2 tsp
onion - 1 small coarsely chopped
tomato - 1 small coarsely chopped
garlic - 3 -4 cloves
frozen carrots - 1 cup
frozen peas- 1/2 cup
frozen cut green beans - 1/2 cup
Seasoning:
2 tbsps ghee
10 cashewnuts
6 curry leaves
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp tamarind paste
In a coffee grinder grind together:
coriander seeds - 4 tsps
jeera - 1 1/2 tsps
peppers corns - abt 8
dried red pepper - 2
saunf - 1/2 tsp
dry desicated coconut - 4 tsps.
fenugreek seeds - abt 10 nos.
Preparation:
- Pressure cook rice,toor dal and vegetables along with the turmeric and salt - 6 WHISTLES. Leave alone until the cooker is ready to open.
- Heat ghee in a small nonstick saucepan.
- Fry the cashews and curry leaves.
- Add dry ground spice mix , gently fry on very low heat until the aroma of the spices fills the air.
- Add 1/2 cup water when spices are gently heated through in the oil.
- Add 1/2 tsp tamarind paste to the water,heat well and mix thoroughly.
- Pour into the cooker along with the pre-cooked rice/dal/veggie mix and mix well.
- Yummy bisibelabath is ready to serve!!!
Tips: Add any other vegetables you desire…typically vegetables you use in sambar.
