A delicious mixed rice cooked with carrots,peas,potatoes,green beans and whole spices - garnished with fried bread pieces. 2 cups Basmati rice 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste 1 Onion sliced 1 cup carrot and green peas 3 /4 cup green beans cut 1 inch in length 1 large or 2 medium potatoes cut into cubes 4 cardamoms 2 pieces cinnamon 3 cloves 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1 /2 cup coconut milk or 4 tsps coconut powder dissolved in water 1 /4 cup oil Salt to taste 3 ½ - 4 cups water (add more or less according to the brand of rice) For Fried bread: 4 slices of bread oil to deep fry. Tips: 1.I usually make this biryani in an electric rice cooker and use the frozen green peas and carrot mix and frozen french cut green beans.Saves a lot of time.And the 2.Note that bread will absorb a lot of oil when fried.So make sure you heat enough oil to fry the entire batch.You can fry the bread ahead of time and store it in an air tight container.
