Sweet , creamy and rich in taste – this delicious kheer is the perfect dessert for a special Indian meal.

Ingredients:
75 grams thin roasted vermicelli / semiya / sevai – (Ahmed brand is my favorite)
4 whole cardamoms
1 pinch saffron
1 pinch turmeric powder
1 - 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
4 tbsps sugar (add more or less according to taste)
4 cups milk
3 tbsps raisins and cashew nuts roasted in ghee ( optional)
Preparation:
- In a heavy pan bring the milk to a boil with the cardamom, saffron , turmeric powder and sugar.
- Simmer and add the semiya .Let it cook a few mins till soft.
- Pour in the condensed milk and stir.
- Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
- Garnish with roasted nuts and raisins.
- Serve chilled.
