An absolutely pretty and delicious dessert perfect for a big crowd.With 4 layers it will definitely have something that everyone enjoys! I made this trifle for a party last weekend and everyone enjoyed it.This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Ingredients:
1 lb butter recipe golden cake mix (I used Duncan Hines - bake cake as per instructions)
2 lbs sliced fresh strawberries
1 /2 cup Splenda (if using white sugar double the quantity)
8 ounces Cool Whip
2 - 111gms packets chocolate pudding mix (I used Royal pudding mix - prepare pudding with whole milk as per instructions)
Preparation:
- Sprinkle Splenda over the sliced strawberries. Toss , cover and let it sit at room temperature for 30 mins till it releases some of its juices.
- Cut the cake into 1 inch thick pieces.
- Place half the cake pieces into the bottom of a large trifle bowl.
- Pour half of the chocolate pudding over the layer of cake and spread evenly.
- Thaw the Cool Whip to room temperature and spread half of it over the layer of chocolate pudding.
- Spoon 1/2 the strawberries along with its juices over the Cool Whip and spread.
- Repeat all the four layers.
- Cover and let it chill overnight or for several hours.
Tips:
1. Use different layers that you love.If you are not a chocolate lover, substitute the chocolate pudding with vanilla pudding, or strawberries with bananas or jello instead of fresh fruit!
2. If making for a smaller gathering use half the ingredients and set in a small bowl or pan.
