Bitter Gourd/ Pavakkai Poriyal

Excellent dish that goes well with rice,sambar or Dhal. I love this poriyal.

Ingredients:

3 Cups finely chopped Bittergourd/Pavakkai
1/4 Tsp Mustard
1/2 Tsp Urad Dal
Few Curry leaves
2 Tsp oil
Salt to taste



Grind without water:

1/3 Cup grated Coconut
1/4 Tsp Jeera/Cumin Seeds
1 Red Chilli
1 clove Garlic
Little Turmeric Powder
Few curry Leaves

Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard and urad dal.
  • Once mustard crackle, add curry leaves, chopped pavakkai and salt.
  • Cover and cook in low flame for few minutes.
  • Add the ground mix.
  • Cook in low flame for 15 -20 more minutes stirring now and then.
  • Serve with rice.
