Cabbage Poriyal

Chopped cabbage cooked with channa dal and grated coconut. Perfect side dish for rice and sambar.

Ingredients:

2 Cups chopped Cabbage
1/4 Cup Channa Dal soaked
1 Tbsp grated Coconut

Seasoning:
1/4 Tsp Mustard
1 Tsp Urad Dal
1 Red Chilli Broken
Few Curry Leaves

Preparation:

  • Heat oil and add the seasonings.
  • When mustard crackles add chopped cabbage, soaked channa dal and salt.
  • Cook covered until the cabbage is cooked.
  • Add grated coconut and mix.
  • Serve with rice.

Ease of Preparation:
Easy

No. of Servings: 4

Tips:
  • Do not add water.
  • Chopped carrot and peas can be added along with the cabbage.
  • Channa dal can be replaced by moong dal.
