Rajma / Red Kidney Beans Curry

Rajma is a popular dish in Northern India, especially Punjab. This dish goes very well with chapathi.

Ingredients:


1 Cup - Rajma (Red Kidney Beans)
1 Red Onion chopped finely
1 big Tomato chopped
1 Tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
1/2 Tsp Chilli Powder
2 Tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
2 Tbsp Oil
Salt per taste



Preparation:

  • Soak rajma overnight in water.
  • Pressure cook rajma with salt until soft.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onion & ginger-garlic Paste.
  • Fry till golden brown.
  • Add chopped tomatoes & little salt (This will make tomato to cook fast).
  • Cover and cook till tomatoes are soft.
  • Now add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder.
  • Cook in low flame till oil floats on top.
  • Add rajma along with the water in which it was cooked.
  • Cook on slow flame till oil floats on top.
  • Finally add chopped coriander leaves.
