Sweet Potato Fries

Healthy, tasty and easy to make fries - Just another way to use this delicious root!

Ingredients:
 
2 large sweet potatoes
Cooking oil spray
2 tbsps Canola oil
Salt to season
 
Preparation:
 
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut the potatoes lengthwise into 1 / 2 inch thick wedges.
  • Place the potato wedges in a large bowl. Season with salt and oil and toss to coat evenly.
  • Spray some cooking oil on a baking sheet.
  • Transfer the potato wedges to the baking sheet , spread them around in a single layer and bake for 15 mins.
  • Turn the fries using a spatula and bake for another 15 mins till the fries and crisp and brown.(They should be soft on the inside and slightly browned on the outside.)
  • Transfer to serving dish and serve hot.
 
Tips:
 
When tossing the wedges in the bowl sprinkle a bit of chili powder , paprika, dried herbs etc. to add a nice kick to the dish.
